Change is in the air

Headspace is going away, but not in the way you might think.
For a long time (8 years!) Headspace Design has operated on the familiar idea that doing our clients justice meant crafting a best-in-class website and handing over the keys. We’ve been home to some of the city’s most formidable talent, and some of the best of us have gone on to work the startup scene, play with the pros, or make a name in the import space.
What’s clear to us now as we look ahead is that 'the familiar idea' has never felt particularly ambitious.
Technology moves almost as quickly as the people using it. Between the two, digital products, web services, and modern marketing are in a constant state of evolution. Custom built, responsive design, gateways to content - revisiting how we deliver the best website possible, at each of these milestones, has simply been due diligence.
In early 2014 we got to work putting together a team to capitalize on a now content-centric web. In late 2014, Headspace’s inbound marketing packages launched, and with them came an entirely new perspective. A focus on the whole website experience, and what happens for the days, months, and years after one launches.
Today this company looks a lot different than it did in 2007. Design is complimentary to our overall objective; it doesn’t encompass it. Closed systems and clogged communicative channels have been replaced with transparency and an eagerness to educate. Most importantly, our gaze is on how valuable any given digital asset can be to you.
Headspace, as a vision, is retiring. We're invoking the winds of change because the value proposition is no longer practical; because we see a bigger picture; because we’re excited to offer you more. From the ashes of Headspace comes Charcoal Marketing, our fully realized vision for a group of creatives working in an open, collaborative space, and fuelling the coolest ideas that come through our door.
