Teen Mental Health
Situation
Teenmentalhealth.org is a website dedicated to helping improve the mental health of youth by the effective translation and transfer of scientific knowledge. It is lead by Dr. Kutcher, an internationally-renowned expert in the area of adolescent mental health and a national and international leader in mental health research, advocacy, training, policy, and health services innovation. The IWK Foundation needed a more robust website and a number of new features and tools added when they called on Headspace.
Strategy
The new design improves upon the already fresh look of the original Teen Mental Health site. We added new site features that improve usability, such as search and tagging. The client also wanted to combine their once external blog with the website so both are under one hood, so to speak. We conducted a social media analysis to uncover important insight attained from online conversations regarding teen mental health.
Solution
Built in ExpressionEngine, we developed a custom resources module which allows the organization to track the email addresses of users who’ve opted in and downloaded pdf content, along with whether they are a parent, educator or health professional. This invaluable insight allows them to improve their content offering and see what it working and what isn’t. We also developed a quiz microsite which the client can manage from the same CMS back-end, and allows users to take a quiz, tracking the statistics in the database.
