Anne of Green Gables

Situation

Beloved by millions around the world, Anne of Green Gables is a cultural icon for Canada, and notably, Prince Edward Island. Tourism Industry Association of PEI contracted Headspace to re-imagine the official Anne website, breathing new life into the character, and drawing tourists to the home of their favorite character.

Solution

We began with a social media strategy, uncovering online conversations dating back decades, and realizing a way to capitalize on the social relevance of Anne of Green Gables. Our design approach was to stray from literal interpretations of the novel, favoring a dreamy, watercolour motif over crisp interface elements. The idea was to transport the user into the history and imagination of the book and inspire them to join the community, contributing blogs, videos and photos.
