Client: Flight of the Silver Dart

Silver Dart, the first powered, heavier-than-air machine to fly in Canada; was designed and built by the team under Alexander Graham Bell. The centennial celebration taking part all over Baddeck Cape Breton in 2008/2009 honours this proud part of Canadian history.
We designed and built the website, which purpose is to inform, educate and inspire voluteers and attendees to take part in the events. The site was built in Adobe Flash to allow for sleek, seamless interaction with the many photo galleries, however unlike most Flash websites that are not search friendly, we built it to be standard-compliant, and still feature HTML text. This in addition to inbound linking resulted in a peak of 2,295 visits in one day, mostly from users googling the term “silver dart”. Our one page Flash site even ranks above Wikipedia!
