Client: Wadeng Wings of Hope

Project: Identity, print collateral, poster, website

Situation

Jacob Deng, founder of Wadeng Wings of Hope, lived a life as a child few of us could imagine. As one of the Lost boys of Sudan, Jacob’s village was burned and most of his family killed, sending him on the run for his life. He grew up in a refuge camp, fighting off poverty, hunger and disease, and finally making it to Canada.

Now a student at Acadia University, Jacob is leading Wadeng in hopes to get help to his people in Southern Sudan. Particularly, he helps children by building schools and wells, and by supplying goats to families, a mere $40/goat, which goes a long way toward helping them combat poverty.

Solution

Kyle reworked their existing identity to communicate itself a little more clearly, designed a poster and gift card, and developed the new website. The provided photography is personal and powerful, and the design incorporates traditional African elements along with donated copy-writing from Doug Wasowski.

Modern Media donated this piece to help Jacob and his cause. Please visit the site and see how you can help children in Sudan.
