More heads to fill our space

When Headspace started, it was just me.

I never dreamed that in such a short time, it would grow into the team that it has become. In March, we hired as our first employee, Ricky Ferris. Ricky and I go back a long time, both working in and out of various agencies. I was very excited to have Ricky come on board full-time with Kevin and me.

A self-described web development ninja, Ricky brings a comprehensive understanding of design and usability to his brilliant knack for front-end development. From coding clean, semantic mark-up and CSS, to Actionscript/Flash development, Ricky is the guy who makes it all happen under the hood, and improves how things look and work. Ultimately, his job is to solve problems, and that’s what he has been doing for Headspace since his arrival in March. I don’t know how I got things done without him.

We’ve also recently hired a back-end developer named Raymond Boateng. Ray is originally from Ghana where he lived and worked before coming to Canada. An extensive educational back-ground, Ray holds much in the way of credentials, including business administration diploma from the Cape Coast, a software engineering diploma from NIIT and a bachelor of information systems from St Francis Xavier University. Among many other companies, Ray worked for Advanis in Edmonton, where he developed high-tech survey systems and provided technical support.

We’re thrilled to have someone with his level of understanding to back-end architecture and development on our team. Welcome aboard Ray!

Among the many other changes to Headspace, we now have a studio! At the beginning of May, we moved into our new spot in 57 Portland Street in Dartmouth. We look forward to getting our space in good working order (in between client projects which just don’t seem to slow down), and we’re preparing to organize an open house that we will invite our clients and colleagues to. Stay tuned for more.

Just a quick thanks to all of our great clients who have made this recent growth possible. Thanks! And now we’ll get back to finishing your website.

Amazing stuff Kyle.  I remember it was just a little over a year ago we me at the AIM Conference and you were just getting started.  Hard to believe you’ve now got staff and office space so soon!  Congrats.

Kyle, was just checking out your site to see what you were up to and noticed this article. Congratulations on the office space! I hope you didn’t get rid of the cardboard fort.
